Grammy, Golden Globe, and Academy Award winner David Byrne announced the upcoming release of his ninth studio album, with a corresponding world tour to promote it throughout North America, Europe, Australia, and New Zealand. Byrne’s “Who is the Sky” Tour, kicking off in late summer, plots over 70 concerts bridging Fall 2025 and Spring 2026. Between stints across Washington and Texas, the production’s US leg will perform four exceptional outings in California, including two nights in Hollywood beginning this November 20th, 2025, LIVE at the Dolby Theatre.
A landmark collaboration with New York City’s Ghost Train Orchestra, David Byrne’s newest record marks his first project in seven years, a follow-up to American Utopia from 2018. This Thursday evening, the former Talking Heads frontman will perform the album’s tracklist to its completion in a wondrously orchestral affair blending visual and storytelling spectacles with cathartic symphonies. The show will feature evocative music crafted alongside Grammy Award-winning producer Kid Harpoon, which includes a Hayley Williams collaboration titled “What Is the Reason for It?” and our headlining new wave icon’s recent hit single “Everybody Laughs.”
The 2025 “Who is the Sky” concert will unfurl with the support of over a dozen world-class singers, dancers, and musicians. Some originate from David Byrne’s “American Utopia” ensemble, with whom he shared a Special Tony Award in 2021 for the eponymous film directed by Spike Lee.
